Emily is a bilingual speech-language pathologist who received a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Previously, she attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish. She also spent time studying at la Universidad de Sevilla in Spain.
Emily has worked with both pediatric and adult clients in private practice, public schools, outpatient, and long-term acute care settings. She has experience working with a variety of individuals, including those with language delays/disorders, autism, articulation disorders, substance exposure, apraxia, stuttering, and genetic disorders. Graduate research helped Emily find her passion in understanding bilingual speech-language development and in working closely with children and their families to achieve their communication goals. She strives to facilitate a team-based approach, collaborating with families and other professionals to support overall health and communication skills.
Emily is from the Detroit, Michigan area and is enjoying life in Charlotte with warmer weather and no snow. In her free time, she enjoys reading, trying new recipes, yoga and traveling.
