Akenya was born in Livingston, New Jersey and raised in Greensboro, NC. She attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, in Greensboro, NC where she received her Bachelors’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. After graduating, she attended North Carolina Central University, in Durham, NC where she received her Masters of Science (2018) in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduate school, she returned to Greensboro where she worked in early intervention for 1.5 years. She then moved to the Charlotte area in August 2020 where she works as a school Speech-Language Pathologist. Since graduating, she has had a variety of experiences including working in early intervention with late talkers and school-age children with autism and developmental delays.
In her free time, she enjoys singing, performing arts, and spending time with my family and close friends.
